Book recommendations sought!!

Alrighty... So as I wait on my nook to arrive (should be the 6th or 7th of January!!!!!!!!) I am compiling a list of books that I should put on there. Already I know I will be getting the following:

all of Jennifer Weiner's books
The Help
Eat, Pray, Love
The Lovely Bones

I have had the following recommended to me (and three of them are things I was already thinking about):
Alex & Me
Wesley the Owl
The Art of Racing in the Rain
Same Kind of Different as Me

What other suggestions do people have? I'm not usually a sci-fi girl, but if it's not TOO out there, I'll consider it.

If you like Jennifer Weiner, I suggest you check out Jennifer Crusie. Her stuff is hilarious. 'Bet Me' and 'Tell Me Lies' are probably my favorite from her.
